intimate islington town hall ceremony and dinner at the drapers arms london

While their bigger celebrations were planned for later that month, Hannah and Jake chose the iconic Islington Town Hall for their intimate legal wedding ceremony. Having no set expectations for their photos (a brief that really sings to my heart) and having had the privilege of getting to know them personally for the year leading up to their day (including a meet up at a Sasha Velour show) I really did feel like I was getting to capture these moments for a pair who I now can proudly call my friends and two people who really were made for eachother - even down to having the same birthday as each other and one valentines day nonetheless.

Their intimate day was like a scene from a Richard Curtis film (complete with London’s signature wind and rain) with some of my stand out as seeing Hannah do her own hair and makeup (impressively in less than 15 mins) Jake and his friends Bollinger-fueled dancing session in their restored old butchers kitchen, watching Hannah fashion a bunch of dried eucalyptus from a vase in their kitchen into her bouquet by helping her haphazardly her tie a ribbon onto the bunch as Jake whisked us out the front door, riding to Islington Town Hall in a vintage Jaguar and witnessing Hannah and Jake dance back down the aisle as newlyweds, cheered on by their loved ones. Islington Town Hall and The Drapers Arms provided the perfect backdrops for this pairs wedding moments, from the heartfelt vows to the stolen glances shared across the sharing feast table.

wilton's music hall wedding with colourful confetti tunnel and red shoes

“Chloe absolutely exceeded our expectations and if you've seen her instagram, you know they were high to start with. Not only are her photos obscenely good, she so fun and friendly, you immediately feel at ease and then you hardly see her for the rest of the wedding because she’s an expert in capturing moments without encroaching. The gallery captured our wedding beautifully and we’ll treasure the photos forever. Could not recommend her enough.” - Laura & Oli

I adore London weddings it’s not secret. I don’t know exactly what it is about them but every time I venture there to capture one, I always have the best time and really feel like I’ve found people who fully embrace my style. Laura and Ollie's wedding was a theatrical masterpiece and no exception to my love of London weddings. They chose to hold the celebrations at Wilton’s Music Hall, the perfect choice for their shared love for the stage and a venue I’ve been wanting to add to my shot list for a long time. Their day was filled with dramatic flair, personal touches, and was a true celebration of their creative spirits. Laura got ready at Town Hall Hotel, a venue known for its blend of historic architecture and modern luxury. She chose a bespoke dress by Daria Karlozi that perfectly captured her unique style and personality, and opted for a pop of color by paring it with red shoes by Kat Maconie - a playful yet bold statement to her outfit.

The stage, adorned with warm candlelight became the perfect setting for Laura and Ollie to exchange their vows. The intimacy of the space and the chosen lighting created an atmosphere that’s quite hard to describe in words because it was just so perfectly - them. Tears of joy were cried and multiple rounds of applause made you feel like you were watching a theatre show, created just for them. Once vows and rings had been exchanged, we were led to the alley just outside of Wilton’s for what I can only describe as a colourful confetti shower. These two did not skimp out and really took on the ‘if in doubt - double the amount’ message. Flutter Darlings will always be one of my recommended confetti suppliers and I think you can see why. Pair any amount with a few canons and you just can’t go wrong for an epic confetti moment. The day had so many wonderful moments including the couple cutting their cake which was made by their friend Jacob, a blue and black homage to the venue with it’s twinkling fairy lights and theatrical flair - which tasted bloody incredible by the way. Their first day, ‘Mrs Robinson’ was the perfect number for them, upbeat and fun and also a homage to their new shared last name.

Laura and Ollie’s wedding at Wilton’s Music Hall was such a incredible tribute to their love for each other and their shared passion for the theatre. From the historic setting to Laura’s ‘Dorothy’ red shoes moment to the joyful confetti tunnel, every detail of their day was infused with personality and charm. Their wedding was not just a celebration of their union but also a celebration of the art and creativity that brought them together.

stylish black tie flower meadow wedding at the mount without bristol

“Hiring Chloe as our photographer was the best and easiest decision. From the minute we found our venue (The Mount Without) we knew she was the photographer for us. She made us feel completely at ease and we had so much fun in our portrait session. She was considerate and warm and we loved sharing our special day with her! She made something we were quite nervous about so fun and exciting. The photos are incredible - still can't believe that it is actually us in the pictures! Chloe, you really are amazing! Thank you.” - Billie and Alex

IYKYK that The Mount Without in Bristol will go down in history as probably one of my favourite venues to exist for weddings ever. So when an enquiry hits my inbox and it’s for a wedding happening there, I already know I’m speaking with my kind of people. B&A were no exception.

Billie, in her own words - had been stalking my Instagram for a few weeks after booking with The Mount Without as she wanted to have hers and Alex’s day captured in a more relaxed way so were instantly drawn to my style. They were hoping for an elegant, stylish wedding paired with a photography style that accentuated the beauty of the venue and honestly, I think we achieved just that. Set in the historic and enchanting venue of The Mount Without, the black-tie affair was a perfect blend of sophistication and relaxed celebrations. The former church (with its awe-inspiring architecture and rich history) provided a breath taking backdrop for their celebrant-led ceremony which was held amongst a beautifully crafted flower meadow altar. Adorned with an array of wildflowers, the decor brought a touch of natural beauty and whimsy to the setting.

Following their heartfelt ceremony, guests welcomed the couple into the hall napkins spinning and dancing to the upbeat musical entrance. Guests were then treated to a three-course dinner catered by Queen and Whippet. Known for their culinary creations, they crafted a menu that celebrated the finest, in season and local ingredients. Despite the formal attire, Billie and Alex’s wedding maintained a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The couple wanted to focus on creating a warm and inviting environment for their friends and family to celebrate which was evident throughout the day. Guests were encouraged to mingle and enjoy the celebration at their own pace, making it a truly enjoyable and stress-free experience.

As the sun set, the relaxed day transitioned into an evening party filled with music, dancing, and celebrations down in the venues Crypt. The joyful energy kept the party going well into the night, with everyone celebrating the love and happiness that Billie and Alex share. Their day was filled with laughter and unforgettable moments and their wedding really was a true testament to their unique style and the deep connections that they share with their family and friends.

hackney town hall & depot n7 wedding in london

“Chloe was by far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. I was so excited to work with her after seeing her work, but all expectations were completely exceeded. Just as important as the photos themselves was how seamlessly Chloe fitted into the day, particularly in the morning getting ready she was so ready to jump in and help with everything and really helped to keep the vibes very calm and positive! All the communication in the run up was also very smooth. Would recommend Chloe to everyone!” - Alice & Jacob

Alice and Jacob's wedding was the perfect blend of traditional charm and modern relaxed London chic vibes, featuring a ceremony at the iconic Hackney Town Hall followed by a lively reception at Depot N7 in Islington. The ceremony took place in the atrium of Hackney Town Hall, a venue known for its grandeur and art deco style. With it’s high ceilings, architectural details and abundance of natural light, it helped to create a breathtaking backdrop for Alice and Jacob to exchange their vows. Alice walked down the aisle to ‘How long will I love you’ from the soundtrack of About Time (a film close to the couple’s heart) in a stunning gown from Angelica Bridal. Alice opted for hollywood waves and natural, glowing make up to highlight her natural beauty which was expertly executed by one of my recommended hair and makeup artists, Lilia Mullinger Bridal.

After the heartfelt ceremony, guests were treated to a quintessentially London experience as they traveled to the reception venue on classic Routemaster buses. With a Gin and Tonic can in hand, the journey through the London city streets was filled with laughter and excitement, allowing everyone to take in the sights along the way.

A&Js wanted their reception to be something that would create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere but one that also represented their joyful personalities. They opted to hold their celebrations at Depot N7, known for its industrial ambiance, which provided the most perfectly versatile and inviting space for their guests to mingle, dine, and dance their way through the day. The decor, simple yet elegant paired with fairy lights and floral arrangements added warmth and charm to the atmosphere. The informal trestle table dining setup encouraged guests to socialize with people they may not have had the joy of speaking with before but also allowed them to step away into one of Depot’s perfectly spaced out corners or the outside courtyard to enjoy the day at their own pace. The relaxed atmosphere, combined with the thoughtful details, laughter, music, and heartfelt moments created the most perfect example of a classic London wedding done right.

chic couple say I do in intimate london wedding at islington town hall and the drapers arms

“Hiring Chloe as our photographer was the best decision ever! From the moment we saw her portfolio, we knew she was the one we wanted to capture our special day. She made us feel completely at ease, and we had an absolute blast during our portrait session. Chloe’s warm and considerate nature made our special day even more wonderful. What we were nervous about turned into an incredibly fun and exciting experience. The photos are absolutely stunning! Chloe, you are amazing! Thank you so much!” - Pierre & Sophie

In the heart of London, Sophie and Pierre decided to celebrate their love in an intimate and unforgettable wedding ceremony at the charming Islington Town Hall. Their special day combined elegance and romance with just a touch of cosmopolitan flair as guests from across the globe gathered to witness their union. Sophie and Pierre wanted their wedding day to be true reflection of their love story - intimate, incorporating locations they’d visited together throughout their relationship and full of joy and it was important to them that their photos focused on the candid, genuine moments.

Islington Town Hall with its stunning art deco architecture and timeless elegance, provided the perfect backdrop for Sophie and Pierre's ceremony. The grandeur of the marble interiors and the warmth of the wood-paneled walls of the Council Chamber created a cozy atmosphere ideal for their intimate gathering. As Sophie walked down the aisle accompanied by her father her radiant smile lit up the whole room, one of the moments Pierre was the most excited for.

Following their heartfelt ceremony, the celebration continued over at Drapers Arms - a beloved gastro pub to the pair known for its charming ambiance and cuisine and also being somewhere the pair frequented together over the years. The couple chose to decorate the tables with candle light and fresh fruit such as vibrant oranges, pomegranates, and cherries to create a warm, colorful and inviting setting. The day was filled with beautiful moments, from the touching ceremony to the lively reception and the thoughtful details (from the historic venue to the fresh fruit table decorations) made the day uniquely theirs.
